long time
to all of those who check my blog I am very sorry it has taken so long to get a new post up and it will syill be longer. I am in the process of moving to Bryce Canyon and it it has been one thing after another but While getting my babys 1 year pictures done he fell and bit through his toung and this is when I learned the little tip I am going to share with you. When you get blood on your cloths dont throw them out just spend a couple of dollars on a large bottel of peroxide. I paid .89 cents for a big bottel and just poor it on and let it sit then poor a little more on and so on till the blood is gone. it dosent matter how long it has sat there. I owe this great tip to my wonderful sister. I hope this helps some of you out. I know it did me considering his shirt was brand new!! you cant even tell there was blood on it at one time.

Changing oil
Ok for all of you girls out there who think that A guy has to change your oil or you need to take it somewhere to do it. THINK AGAIN!!! Ypu dont need a guy to do everything for you. Pull up your big girl pantys and give it a try! the worse that can happen is you might have to ask for some help the first time around and thats not a big deal. now I have knon how to change my oil for a long time I just never dared do it by myself so this is the first time changing it by my self:
1st get your car up high enough you can get up under it.
2nd find the plug that holds your oil in.
3rd get out everything you will need. 5 quarts of oil, oil filter, something to unscrew the plug, something to put your oil in (They sell wonderful oil pans at auto part stores like the one shown they are reusable) , A rag or 2 and i would put some lews paper or cardboard or something under where the oil pan is going to go and a funel.
The last time I had my oil changed it was done at walmart and they tightened everything quit a lot so when I went to take the plug out it took a lot of muscel. when I got it loose I moved the oil pan with my elbow on accident and oil went all over the drive way (thats where the newspaper or cadbourd would have come in handy)
Also when the oil first comes out there is a lot of pressur behind it so put the oil pan a little bit back to catch it.
when the oil is all drained it is time to take the oil filter off. (again walmart tightened it a lot) when I went to take the oil filter off it was really to tight for me to unscrew it so my wonderful neighbor came over to take it off for me and even he had trouble getting it loosened. he ended up bringing over a round flat thing that helped him grip it a little better. When the filter is taken off pull the new one out of the box and take a little of the new oil on your finger and whipit along inside the hole where it screws on then stick it up in there and screw the new one in. then screw the plug back in. (dont forget to do that or all your new oil wil go right out the hole).
this is where you need the rags becasue you will have oil all over your hands.
After you make sure the plug is back in staart adding the new oil. Under your hood there will be a cap that has a picture on it for the oil (it is not usually the same hole u check the oil) take the lid off put your funel in and start adding the oil. put in 4 and a half quartsand then put the lid back on. go for a short drive then check your oil again after letting it set. if it still needs oil then add more but most likely you wont need any more.
If oil is spilled put something on it to soak up the oil and you are done.
Walmart cost: around 30$
to do it myself : around $12
time waiting for Walmart to do it: between 1/2 hour-2 hrs depending on how busy they are.
time for me to do it: about an hour and thats with dealing with matthew and all the other little things that poped up. So there you have it. If i can change my oil anyone can! this is dedicated to my dad. I love him and he is always ready to teach me anything!

Fancy Nancy!
So i got this idea from seeing a pic of one that someone was wearing in their hair and the cost was like 30.00. I thought hey i could make something like that. I I tried it. This is my first shot at it. Dont laugh. But this is how i made it.
I went to michaels and gathered a bunch of stuff together that looked like it would be fun. hear is the list
1- decos
2- glue gun
3- hair band (bought some at target)
4- clear thread/ needle
5- white felt
6- scissors
7- stick picker
first I used the stitch picher to take the fabric off the head band (I couldn't find any plastic ones the size i wanted)
then i cut the felt to fit over the hb and hot glued it.
To cover up the seam I used a ruff ribbon and glued it over the seam. (yello was the only color i had)
i found this feather thing but wanted it thicker so I cut 1/3 of it off the end and hot glues it to the other stagering it a little so that the all werent one length.
The butterfly I hot glued to the frnt of that and then to reinforce all of it I used clearthread and put some stiches through all of it.
After I found where I wanted the deco at I put a couple of stitches through it hooking it to the HB then put a coulple of dobs of glue under it to hold it in place.
I was to excited to post it so I dint do my hair first before I took the pics so when I get my hair all done and I am wering it i will post a better pic of it.

notebooks for girls camp
A very good friend of mine was up to visit this weekend and she needed so stuff for girls camp to give to the girls. so was looking at some note books that were covered in a aligator looking cover. they were way more than they were worth. So I talked my friend into a cheeper alternative and she trusted me. haa haa I latter informed her I had no Idea what I was doing but it looked good in my head.... well this is what I came up with. needed:
Modg pog
Note book ( we found some hard covered ones at target for 1$)
Scrap book paper
Scissors
leather string\
- Cut out the paper to be about an inch wider around the book, modg podg the cover completelyand put the paper of your choice on the front.
When dried cut the corners off and wraop the corners onto the inside of the cover.
on the middle binding part we cut the paper to be even with the top.
-Then cut a paper to cover the inside covers and repeat what u did with the outside cover.
We wanted them to look different so with one of the scraps I wripped it on both sides and modg podg that to the outside and when that was dried covered the outside cover in a layer of modge podge doing one side at a time to keep the paper from getting damaged.
When completly dried we tied the leather string around and tied a bow and that was it. they are fun. i think the girls will enjoy them.

Strawberry banana jam
4 3/4 c prepaired fruit9 about 2 quarts fully ripe strawberrys & 3 fully ripe bananas)
3 tbls fresh lemon juice
6 3/4 sugar
1 box pectin
1/2 tsp margarin
smash fruit- add lemon juice-add pectin-add margarin bring mix to a boil add all sugar-stir constantly-return to rolling boil exactly 1 min- remove from heat skim foam off top w/ metal spoon
quickle ladle into hot sterilized jars- fill to within 1/8 inch of top-whip jar rims and threads
add lids & screw on tightly- turn jars upside down after jarts are cool check seal.
That was the actual recipe but as anyone knows i dont like to follow the recipe......hears how I made it.
Cut up my fruite in a bowl so I could smash it easier then I measured it into the pan.
I started out with
6 pounds strawberrys
6 bananas
and ended up with
14 c of fruit
I dont like jelly but I like it to be a thicker syrup type so to the fruit i added the 11 tbs of lemon juice (i just used the stuff out of a bottle)
i then stired in 14 c of sugar (my mom always says 1 c of sugar to 1 cup fruit)
* honestly I could have left 1 c out and i think it still would have been fine*
I then stuck it on the stove to boil while i was washing my jars and getting the bath ready for them. When the jars were boiling i let them sit in there for about 5 min and then took them out one at a time filling them and whipping them down, put the lids on and then flipped them upside down.
as u can see from one of the pictures I dont have a funel so i used a elmo cup and cut out the bottom. I thought it was funny.
The jam is soooooo good. we have now had it on pancakes and ice cream.
You should really try this one while the bananas and strawberrys are still on sale!!

the many uses of a cucumber
WOW WHAT A LITTLE GEM THE CUCUMBER IS,I WILL LOOK AT IT DIFFERENTLY NOW.
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.
5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!
6.. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

July deco.
So Craft o maniac has done it again. I thought this was so cute i had to share with all of you.
this is a $5.00 dollar frame from Walmart. So are the set of $3.00 dollar bandanna's. I have made alot of cute holiday saying's in these frames... "EGGS" for Easter, "EEK" in a 3 frame holder for Halloween, and "JOY" for Christmas in another 3 frame holder. Its such a fun and pretty inexpensive craft/decor item. You can also paint the frame to any color you like. Lastly I used my cricut and cut out JULY in white vinyl from the Platinum Schoolbook cartridge, I chose the "Tall Ball" font at 3 inches.
cut bandana to fit and iron! it is that easy!! this is so cute and you can do so many things with one frame! less to store if you just swap it out.
Thanks to Craft o Maniac for all your great ideas! if you want to check out her blog go to
